We opted to visit Madeira; 'The Hawaii of Europe'. Simple enough to book flights, accommodation and a hire car to explore the small island in the Atlantic, just 500 miles off the coast of Morocco. The place seems to be getting quite the buzz on Instagram, due to its year round good weather and dramatic scenery. I was hoping to pick up my camera again and see some of the impressive landscapes.
Kyoto & Osaka – Japan
After spending 4 days in the Mount Fuji area, we travelled via shinkansen to Kyoto, the ancient capital city of Japan. The city has a wealth of shrines and temples as well as old fashioned small wooden Japanese buildings. We did a variety of activities in Kyoto and maybe felt like we could have spent a few extra days in the area.
Fuji Five Lakes – Fujiyoshida, Japan
Following 5 days in Tokyo we moved on to Fujiyoshida a small town at the base of the magnificent Mt. Fuji. I'm always drawn towards mountainous areas (although technically Fuji san is a volcano) it is so perfectly formed and visible from all around south western Japan.
Tokyo – Japan
Finally, after 3 years of waiting we were able to take our dream trip to Japan. Postponed since April 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic and with Japan being one of the last countries to fully open its borders for tourism all I can say is it was really worth the wait!
Chamonix – Alps, France
In the October half term I took a solo trip to Chamonix in the French Alps. I needed to get into the mountains at this time.
San Francisco to Las Vegas – California/Nevada, U.S.A
We booked a dream trip to Japan in Easter 2020 we finally got around to using up our British Airways vouchers to do a West Coast road trip. The journey would take us from San Francisco > Monterey > Yosemite National Park > Sequoia National Park > Death Valley National Park before finishing our trip in Las Vegas.
FlatSix: Goodwood – Chichester, UK
I decided to head down to Goodwood race circuit for the all-Porsche Flat6 show. The show is put together by some of the big names on the current UK Porsche scene and was also sponsored by Porsche.
Porto – Nazaré – Lisbon, Portugal
Having visited Lisbon for a stag do a few years ago, I had loved the vibe of the city and said that I would revisit sometime. So, during the Easter school holidays I booked a road trip to take us down the Atlantic coast of Portugal from Porto to Lisbon.
Southern Iceland
This was my second visit to Iceland. We booked as it would be our first foreign travel in almost 2 years due to the Covid 19 Pandemic and Iceland seemed to have the most lenient travel restrictions and procedures meaning it would be less likely to have the disappointment of cancellation.
Porsche Night – Duke of London, Brentford
The Brentford project has become an increasingly popular car meet and classic car enthusiast hang out. They held their second Porsche night which was host to a wide variety of classic, rare and exotic examples of the marque.
